“Thousands of tired, nerve-shaken, over-civilized people are beginning to find out going to the mountains is going home; that wilderness is a necessity…” John Muir
If we are not in a canoe we are most likely to be adventuring in the mountains!
- Overnight expeditions in remote locations, wild camping or using a bothy
- Day journeys in the Lakeland Fells, North Pennines and Snowdonia
- Outdoor Rock Climbing
- Traditional Ghyll Scrambling or Gorge Walking
With a lifetime spent in the mountain ranges of the UK and a variety of trips to Europe we will lead you confidently in superb upland environments. If you’d like to broaden your fell walking experience with some rock climbing we’ll find a crag to suit your needs and the weather, or maybe ghyll scrambling captures your imagination?
At Canoes, Mountains and Caves we seek to look beyond the immediate taking time to add something to our travels in the mountains by considering matters such as: geology; flora & fauna; geography; social & natural history. For those interested in developing their own mountain skills we are always happy to take time on the journey to look more deeply at navigational techniques.
